In 1989, Thomas Schulman won the Oscar for Best Screenplay for Dead Poets Society. A member of the Writers Guild of America, West since 1986, Schulman served as vice-president from 2009 to 2011. In this conversation, he discusses many of the issues that affect film and television writers, such as licensing, digital disruption, and media conglomeration.
