This concluding chapter summarizes the empirical findings regarding the effect of social fields, global actors, and national contexts on the representation of mass violence in Darfur, and it spells out theoretical insights for field theory, globalization debates, and the sociology of knowledge. Finally, it considers benefits for practice in the pursuit of justice, humanitarianism, and peace.
