This chapter puts Wittgenstein’s observations about meaning in Philosophical Investigations together with Kuhn’s theory of core conceptual vocabulary to create a methodology for the translation of eleventh-century Arabic theory. This model is different from previous methodologies in secondary scholarship. Both Saussure and homonymy/polysemy are shown to be distractions.
