    The conclusion summarizes the central empirical and theoretical findings and situates remittance-led development initiatives in contemporary issues of rising organized crime and violence in Mexico, U.S. deportations, and how well the theory travels beyond the Mexican case. The chapter also contemplates the paradox of cross-border politics and development in countries with substantial international migration.
